There are levels to living a healthy lifestyle, and my journey to health and fitness was no exception. It was January 6, 2014, and “Nothing Was the Same.”
Five years later, and I'm a health scientist, doctorate student, bodybuilding competitor, fitness model and entrepreneur.
I did not get serious about my health until my mother had a stroke. She was previously advised by doctors to eat healthier, take the necessary steps to lose weight, and to lower her blood pressure and cholesterol, but did not take the advice seriously. With my mother facing death, I became determined to empower through action and not just words. I knew that my mother's health scare would soon be my own if I didn't make a change. I know many women are where I once was, between who they want to be and the person they see in the mirror.
To date, I've lost 55 pounds
Though I'm a different person physically, the most meaningful change has been mental. It's my mission that people realize that they already have what it takes on the inside to take that blind leap of faith and make the change.
